Detect Adware

Adware is software designed to promote advertisements. Adware may act without your authorization or knowledge. Often, free utilities may install hidden adware, sometimes to earn money for the author to recover development costs. While adware is not always malicious, it can track your Internet activity and send this and other personal information from your computer to advertisers. When advertisers get this information, you may be a target for pop-up/pop-under advertisements, web browser toolbars, and spam.

Is your computer infected with Adware?

Adware symptom Slow computer performance. Even just one to two Adware parasites can clog your bandwidth and cause your computer performance to slow. Because types of Adware silently and secretly work in the background, you won’t be able to easily detect the adware. If your computer is taking long periods to reboot or you have a slow Internet connection, these may be signs that your computer is infected with Adware.

Adware symptom New desktop shortcuts or switched homepage. Adware may change your Internet settings or redirect your default homepage to point to another web site. Adware may even add new desktop shortcuts on your PC. If you want to avoid these problems, keep your computer adware-free and remove all traces of Adware.

Adware symptom Annoying popups on your PC. Adware may bombard your computer with popup ads, sometimes even when you’re not signed online. Adware may prevent regular Internet activity and track your surfing habits as well as your personal information. Remove Adware immediately because the more traces of Adware you have the more popups you’ll see on your computer.
