Enemy with many faces is the most annoying kind of all and Paysafecard Virus must be one of them. Paysafecard Virus is a generic name of one particular ransomware application that has been all the rage as of late. It is also known by many other names, including FBI Moneypak Virus, Police Central e-crime Unit (PCEU) and the like. The main idea behind this infection is that its creators try to grow rich by deceiving innocent computer users.
The plot is simple - Paysafecard Virus convinces the user that he has committed a crime and thus he has to pay a fine in order to unlock his computer. At the first glance Paysafecard Virus might seem really scary, because it does not allow the user to access his desktop. The only thing the user sees is his big application window that requires money. Depending on which version of Paysafecard Virus you are infected with, the program might ask for 100 USD, 100 Canadian dollars, 50 pounds or 50 Euro. The amount and currency differs, because upon the infection Paysafecard Virus reads your IP address and then adjust itself to your location. So this infection is actually multilingual as English-speaking users aren't its only target.
Here's an example of a message you might see on your screen if you are infected with Paysafecard Virus:
ATTENTION!
Your PC is blocked due to at least one of the specified reasons below.
You have been violating Copyright and Related Right Live (Videos, Music, Software) and illegally using or distributing copyrighted content, thus infringing Article 1, Section B, Clause B, also known as the Criminal Code of United States of America <...>
To unlock the computer, you must pay the fine through MoneyPak of 100$ <...>
When you pay the fine, your PC will get unlocked in 1 to 48 hours after the money is put into the State’s account.
Depending on your location, Paysafecard Virus might cite other laws and regulations, for example, the copyright law of Sweden, Portugal, Spain and so on. However, the point is that even if you pay the price (which you MUST NOT do at all costs), Paysafecard Virus will not disappear.
You have to tear your system out of Paysafecard Virus's grasp yourself: restart your computer and press F8 to load Safe Mode with Networking. This way you will be able to download a program that will help you to remove Paysafecard Virus from your computer. Of course, you might just as well load your system in the Safe Mode and delete Paysafecard Virus manually, but that is not recommended unless you are a computer expert. Choose the best way to terminate this ransomware and do it fast, because your system crashes!
