The threat was very active in the United States, England, France, and Spain.

The user is required to enter payment information in the warning to regain access to the system; unfortunately, there is no guarantee that the computer will be unlocked after typing in the required information.

It has been found that some interfaces of the so-called Porn Virus contain obscene pornographic pictures, which are presented to make the warning more effective. The Trojan which has been found to distribute such warnings is known as Reveyom. As well as other ransomware scams, the warnings of Trojan Revoyem accuse the users of using or distributing pornographic files. Moreover, some IP addresses of the websites that are allegedly believe to have been visited by the user are presented in the warning.

It is important to ignore all the requirements that are provided by the Porn Virus because no authoritative institution would attempt to contact an individual by making the computer inoperable. Since misleading warnings are displayed by dangerous Trojan infections, the removal of the threat is a must.
