There is a variety of programs that may help malware and other unwanted applications to remain on your computer for as long as possible. SupTab is one of such potentially unwanted applications that cannot do any harm on their own. In fact, SupTab could be more annoying than dangerous, but keeping in mind that it is usually bundled with browser hijackers, you should take this application seriously, and remove SupTab from your computer ASAP. For manual removal instructions, scroll down to the bottom of this article.

The reason why we cannot actually classify SupTab as malware is because official it is promoted as licensed Internet Explorer plug-in. It does not even try to hide its presence from you – if you install this application on your computer, a new add-on entry called IETabPage Class will appear in the list of Toolbars and Extensions on Internet Explorer. The good news is though, that SupTab affects only Internet Explorer browser and it does not seem possible to install it on either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

This application has its own page on Facebook as well. You can access it via facebook.com/lightningnewtabforie. As you can see, it is being promoted as a new functional add-on for Internet Explorer, called “Lightning newtab for IE”. Once the application is installed on your browser, it automatically opens a new tab that provides you with shortcuts to the most popular websites.

However, our biggest concern about SupTab is that this application is often bundled with Awesomehp.com which is a cunning browser hijacker infection. The reason why SupTab may arrive with browser hijacker is easy to guess – once installed, this plug-in automatically runs a service whenever you turn on your computer. The service does not allow you to perform any changes to the current Internet Explorer settings. Hence, if a browser hijacker does not want you to restore your default browser settings, it may employ SupTab to stop you from doing it.

Although you can easily remove SupTab via Control Panel, if it gets coupled with a dangerous computer infection, inadvertently the program may become responsible for allowing other malicious threats to enter your computer. Therefore, it is important that you scan the PC with SpyHunter free scanner after you remove SupTab to see whether you have any other potentially dangerous applications on board.

To protect yourself from such threats, avoid installing freeware applications from third party websites. Do not use unfamiliar and unreliable downloaders, as they might install additional programs without your consent. Also, run regular system scans with reliable scanners and do not hesitate to invest in a licensed antimalware tool if need be. 1. Hi
I've been trying to remove Suptab from my computer. Problem is, it isn't in my list of downloaded programs, which I access from the control panel, to remove. It is however, in my local disk, program files.
I attempted to delete the whole file, and could, except for 2 files.
the ones that I can't delete are
dpinterface32.dll and spAPPSv32.dll both are files extensions
In the event I needed all the files I did restore the files from my recycle bin. Please guide me I'm running WinVista and using Firefox. Thanks so much!

  2. those 2 files were locked because they are in use by the system. you need to first unload them by right clicking on the taskbar and opening task manager by clicking \"Start Task Manager\"]. In the \"Processes\" tab, click on \"Show processors from all users\" at the bottom left of the window. Look for \"Loader64.exe\" and \"Loader32.exe\". If they are there right click on one of those file names and choose \"End Process Tree\". Do the same for the other one. There should also be a file named \"HpUI.exe\". End its process as above, too.

Now you should be able to delete all the files in that program files installation folder.

However, you could have run the program\'s uninstaller named \"uninstall.exe\", directly from that program files folder, which should uninstall the program, unless it has a way of reinstalling itself again, like some unwanted programs like this one often do.

the way I removed it was to delete all the files from the programs files folder as I explained, then ran regedit and deleted all references to \"SupHpUISoft\", \"{33BB0A4E-99AF-4226-BDF6-49120163DE86}\", \"HpUI.exe\", \"Loader64.exe\", \"Loader32.exe\", and \"mystartsearch\", the latter was a browser search/URL hijacker.
