It is important that you choose a trustworthy, reliable default search provider, and if Fastecosearch.com is a tool you are considering for the position, we have information for you. First and foremost, we have to warn you that this search tool is not trustworthy. In fact, it does not even offer a unique search service. Instead, it redirects to a third-party search engine. For example, it could redirect to google.com or bing.com. Although the results are not modified – which is often the case with unreliable search tools – it could be risky for you to continue using Fastecosearch simply because it can use information pertaining to your searches in unknown ways. It should be obvious by now that we recommend deleting Fastecosearch.com, and it is most likely that you can do that only by removing an associated extension. Further in the report, we discuss this extension as well as ways to get rid of it from Google Chrome.
According to our research team, Fastecosearch.com is associated with Fast Power EcoSearch. This PUP – potentially unwanted program – can be found at chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/fast-power-ecosearch/alijmadgecnblhjilopnnggdpalopbhe. Although it is officially introduced at fasttsearch.club, there is no download button. When we discovered the PUP first, it was still introduced to Chrome users via 554778235.site and gorillawin.ru, but that is no longer the case. Fast Power EcoSearch, of course, could still be spread by bundled downloaders, and it could even be executed along with malicious threats. If you suspect that that is what has happened, employ a malware scanner that will run a full system scan and determine if there are any threats that you need to remove from your system. Hopefully, you do not need to worry about anything but the PUP itself and, of course, Fastecosearch.com, which replaces the default search provider after installation. If you are not even sure that your default search provider has been modified, go to chrome://settings/searchEngines and check which engine is set as the “Default” one.
Chrome users might not notice that Fastecosearch.com has been introduced because it is pretty covert. As you enter search keywords into the address bar, this search tool redirects you to a third-party search engine very quickly. When we tested the search tool, it redirected to google.com or bing.com. Of course, if you use either of them as your main search tools normally, you might not notice that Fastecosearch.com has been implemented. The good news is that when this search tool redirects, it does not modify the results in any way. That, however, does not mean that you can trust the service. Every keyword, every link click, and every interaction with the presented content is likely to be recorded by the search tool. We do not know how this data could be used. Although the supporting Privacy Policy alludes that that is done for marketing purposes, nothing else is revealed. If Fast Power EcoSearch offered useful services, perhaps you would choose to take risks, but since this PUP is unlikely to serve in a beneficial manner, we strongly recommend that you delete it without further hesitation.
You might have already glanced at the manual removal guide below. It shows how to delete unwanted extensions, and we instruct to delete Fast Power EcoSearch to get rid of Fastecosearch.com. This search tool is integrated into the extension, and so it goes along with the PUP. Due to this, you also cannot delete the unwanted search provider without getting rid of the PUP. As we mentioned already, this extension is unlikely to serve in a beneficial manner anyway, and so getting rid of it should not be a matter of great discussion. Of course, the ultimate decision is yours. Should you decide to go through with the removal of Fast Power EcoSearch, follow the guide below, OR install anti-malware software, and it will get rid of the threat automatically. Our final advice is to be cautious about new extensions and programs, even if they sound amazing “on paper.” Always dig deeper before installing new things.
