It would seem as though the developers of rogue security applications Sysinternals Antivirus have been hard at work with their latest rogue security tool, BlueFlare Antivirus. This rogue antispyware application was designed by criminals in order to rip honest, unsuspecting and inexperienced PC owners off. Of course this rogue will do everything in its power to try and convince its users that it is a genuine security tool able to protect their systems against all known threats and infections. The truth is that this could not be further from the truth.
BlueFlare Antivirus hides its presence from the user, and enters the system surreptitiously. This is done through a variety of ways, most notably by making use of fake online malware scanners and seditious browser hijacking websites. It has also been reported that BlueFlare Antivirus uses infected online flash ads to root its infection into its victims’ PCs.
The first clue the user will have as to the presence of BlueFlare Antivirus on the system will come from the rogue initiating a fake system scan. This scan will report on various threats being present on the system, such as Trojan.VBS.Qhost, Trojan-Downloader.JS.Remora and Trojan-Downloader.JS.Agent. These fake results will soon be followed by fake security alerts in the form of pop up messages, one of which reads as follows:
Warning!
Application cannot be executed. The file notepad.exe is infected.
Please activate your antivirus software
Never believe any correspondence received from BlueFlare Antivirus. This rogue was never designed to be of any benefit to a PC, but merely to rip users off. As a further attack on the system BlueFlare Antivirus will block the user’s access to the Internet and prevent him from launching applications on the infected PC. This is done in an effort to prevent the user from running or downloading a program which may be able to destroy BlueFlare Antivirus from the system.
Victims of BlueFlare Antivirus have also complained about extremely poor system performance. This is caused by BlueFlare Antivirus consuming many valuable system resources, making it impossible for the PC to function as it should. Increased erratic system behavior as well as randomly generated Desktop items has also been reported.
Take back control of your system and remove BlueFlare Antivirus before it’s too late. This can safely and effectively be done by using a properly functioning security tool which will not only annihilate BlueFlare Antivirus but also protect against similar attacks and threats in future.
