Enhanced Results could be considered an adware application, because it displays commercial content, which is personalized based on the data collected on your web browsing habits. However, Enhanced Results never comes alone and it is usually part of various browser plug-ins and add-ons. Either way, it can clearly be called a potentially unwanted application, because not every user is thrilled to see additional commercial ads when he/she performs Google search. To remove Enhanced Results, you need to remove a plug-in this adware came with.

Most of the time, Enhanced Results adware is installed with FoxLingo Firefox add-on. Consequently, it is not compatible with Internet Explorer or Google Chrome web browsers. FoxLingo itself is a plug-in that provides you an instant access to online translator and a dictionary, and it is installed on your browser as a new toolbar. With the plug-in installed, Enhanced Results enter your system as well.

It may manifest itself as an extra box above Google search results. The box will be full of additional link suggestions, most of which will obviously be of commercial content. Enhanced Results does not create the additional box itself and uses a space created by any other adware. It means that your computer may have other potentially unwanted applications installed already, for example – Ads not by this site virus.

If you were to check the information tab for Enhanced Results, you would be provided with the following explanation: “Enhanced Results improves the way you search. We give you quicker access to related ads, products, YouTube Videos, Wikipedia articles, Flickr photos and more, all just a click away”. Were you to click the link present in the information tab, you would be redirect to advertising-support.com home page.

It should be pointed out that most of the time, if Enhanced Results is integrated in a browser plug-in, you should be able to turn the commercial ads off in the plug-in settings via browser options. Therefore, the plug-in that Enhanced Results comes with cannot be considered computer malware or potentially unwanted application.

Consequently, if you did not install Foxlingo on your browser, but you still see Enhanced Results adware content on your browser, check whether you have any other browser plug-ins or add-ons installed lately, and remove them immediately. Disable Enhanced Results

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+A and Add-ons manager tab will open.
  2. Open Extensions tab.
  3. Click Options under FoxLingo and a new menu will open.
  4. Under Main, un-tick Enable search enhancing feature (ads supported) option.
  5. Press OK.

It should be enough to make the Enhanced Results ads go away. However, if it does not work, then you should look for other applications potentially responsible for using Enhanced Results ads.
