Mindspark Interactive Network represents Filmfanatic Toolbar, a plugin which is meant to help you access information about films more quickly and conveniently. It is possible that the toolbar will appear onto your Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers after you install bundled software; however, it is more likely that you have chosen to install it from filmfanatic.com/index.jhtml. The official page representing the toolbar indicates that it is powered by Ask, a well known search engine which is used by web surfers all around the world. What is the purpose of the plugin? Even though the program is advertised as a tool which can provide you with easy-access links to imdb.com, rottentomatoes.com and similar websites, in reality it has been developed to support Ask Web Search tools. So, should you delete Filmfanatic Toolbar?

Our researchers have previously reported such browser plugins as Zwinky Toolbar, MyScrapNook Toolbar and Utility Chest Toolbar. Have you heard of these browser plugins before? As you may know already, these have been developed by Mindspark, and it has been discovered that all of them offer to change the home page of your browsers to home.tb.ask.com and the search engine to search.tb.ask.com. It is quite suspicious that these modifications are set for automatic activation. This means that if you continue clicking ‘Install’ during the installation process without paying attention to the presented information your browser setting will be reconfigured. As you may guess, this has created a real frenzy amongst those who did not expect their search tools to be modified. Regardless, since the modifications are optional, you should not treat the toolbar as a highly malicious browser hijacker.

Do you still want to remove Filmfanatic Toolbar? Even though this task is not the one you absolutely need to perform, our security experts state that you are better off without the toolbar. You can delete the suspicious plugin manually, and this operation consists of two different steps. First of all, you have to remove the undesirable program from the computer. Note that if you are running both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers you may need to delete two separate unwanted programs. The second step shows you how to remove the undesirable search tools which are attached to the toolbars upon the installation of the toolbar.

Note: to keep the PC guarded and to run it risk-free you need to ensure that the system is protected. Various security vulnerabilities could be utilized by cyber criminals to take over your computer, and to make sure that all of them are guarded you should install automatic malware detection and removal software.
