GoPhoto.it is a website that will be set as your default home page when you install an application developed by Cool Mirage Ltd. Some users consider it a browser hijacker, but it is more of a potentially unwanted application, because the point is that users install it onto their computers themselves. The browser settings get changed when GoPhotoIt Extension is installed on the system. Unfortunately, the settings are not reverted when the application is uninstalled, so you will need to remove GoPhoto.it on your own. Luckily, that is not a hard thing to do.
According to our security research, the application can be installed onto your computer, when you encounter the direct download link. Even if you have several web browsers on your computer, GoPhoto.it will only affect your default browser, by installing a new extension and by changing your default home page and default search engine (to search.gophoto.it). GoPhoto.it is compatible with Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox web browsers, and at first glance it does not seem like this application could cause any problem.
At the main home page it says that GoPhoto.it is “the best way to view photos on the web”. It basically enables users to view photos in full size on such websites as Facebook or Flickr instantly, just by hovering your mouse cursor above the picture you want to enlarge. Although, technically, there seems to be nothing wrong with GoPhoto.it, users are still advised against installing it on their computers. After all, if it does not inform you about the oncoming change of the browser settings, then something is not exactly right.
Another fact that makes us keep our guard up is that GoPhoto.it is created by the same developer as Torn TV, which is yet another potentially unwanted application. Therefore, there is a presumption that GoPhoto.it may also expose users to potentially unwanted commercial content just as TornTV. Although GoPhoto.it has not been recorded to flood users with pop-up ads or anything of the kind, the extension’s privacy policy states that the application may display third party content in the form of pop-ups.
What is more, it is possible for GoPhoto.it to be bundled with third party installers and downloaders. It means that you need to be careful whenever you download freeware applications from third party file hosting websites. Removing GoPhoto.it from your system is also a good idea, because this way you would prevent any undesirable computer security risks. After manual removal, be sure you run a full system scan with SpyHunter free scanner to check whether your system is really secure.
