MyScrapNook Toolbar is a browser plugin which has been developed by Mindspark Interactive Network. The add-on available for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers has been developed to serve as a free collage, invitation, flyer, calendar creator. The program is highly popular because it does not require you to register and is completely free. Unfortunately, some malware researchers indicate that it is important to remove MyScrapNook Toolbar from the operating Windows system and the aforementioned browsers. So, should you delete the application or should you ignore all of the intimidating warnings?

Even though the program is often categorized as a browser hijacker, you should not be intimidated to install the application. Of course, if you land on free.myscrapnook.com/index.jhtml, click the download button and then pay absolutely no attention to the installation process, you might get in trouble. As research shows, the program comes bundled with Ask web search tools. Therefore, if you do not act more carefully, you could end up with home.tb.ask.com set as the home page of your browsers. Since every user is given the opportunity to refuse the tools it is unfair to call MyScrapNook Toolbar a malicious browser hijacker. The same goes for Zwinky Toolbar, Utility Chest, TotalRecipeSearch Toolbar and other Mindspark Interactive Network plugins most of which distribute Ask Web Search tools.

As soon as you download the toolbar and the suspicious search tools, your Internet Explorer is awarded with 12bar.dll, My Scarp Nook, Toolbar BHO and Search Assistant BHO. Do you know what a BHO is? This abbreviation stands for a browser helper object, a browser add-on which works to record information about your virtual preferences and browsing habits. All of this information could be used by the toolbar and the Ask search tools to provide you with more personalized services. Nonetheless, we do not recommend using the search.tb.ask.com as a reliable search engine because it presents ad-supported search results which may link you to unreliable, irrelevant websites.

All in all, even though MyScrapNook Toolbar is not a malicious computer program you may want to delete it due to the existence of the browser helper objects. Needless to say, Ask Web Search is not the best search tool either, which is why we recommend that you remove it from the browsers. Below are the manual removal instructions which will help you perform both of these tasks by yourself. However, if you wish to ensure that your PC is protected against potentially dangerous activity, you should install authentic spyware detection and removal software.
