PremierDownloadManager Toolbar is a potentially unwanted browser extension. Such applications often make an impression that they can provide you with relevant functions and services, but that is not the case. PremierDownloadManager Toolbar comes from a big family of potentially unwanted programs called Mindspark family. As such, it exhibits the same behavioral patterns as its predecessors. Partially, it is a good thing because we know what to expect of the program. However, at the same time we also know that we must remove PremierDownloadManager Toolbar immediately; otherwise the program’s exploitation might result in various problems.

You might say that there is nothing wrong with PremierDownloadManager Toolbar because it is possible to download the application at premierdownloadmanager.com. Usually, malicious computer infections do not have direct download links. This claim is true. Malware infections are very sneaky about entering your computer, and PremierDownloadManager Toolbar is definitely not the case of a malicious computer threat. Nevertheless, this program might come bundled with freeware, and if users are not attentive enough during freeware installation, they might miss the installation step which informs them about PremierDownloadManager Toolbar, and the oncoming setup. What is more, this application is highly intrusive, and that is not something one would expect of a reliable program.

Since PremierDownloadManager Toolbar comes from the Mindspark group, it is very similar to Video Scavenger Toolbar, MyScrapNook Toolbar, CitySearch Toolbar, Zwinky Toolbar, and many other browser extensions from the same family. They all have one thing in common – they offer some specific function that should improve your online browsing experience, but at the same time they come with additional features that cannot be tolerated. For example, if you install the full version of PremierDownloadManager Toolbar on your computer, your default homepage will be changed to home.tb.ask.com, and your search.ask.com will be set as your default search engine.

Thus, some users think that PremierDownloadManager Toolbar is a browser hijacker, but the problem is that you ALLOW this extension to perform these changes during the installation. It calls for extreme cautiousness whenever you install new applications downloaded from third-party sources – read all the installation steps carefully; otherwise you might be up for an unpleasant surprise.

PremierDownloadManager Toolbar should help you manage your downloads better, but this application is closely related to various third-party websites that display commercial advertisements. We are not trying to say that PremierDownloadManager Toolbar is a dangerous infection – it is very far from it. However, if you care about your system’s safety and security, you will uninstall PremierDownloadManager Toolbar immediately.

Since there might be other unwanted applications on board, please run a full system scan with the SpyHunter free scanner, and terminate all the potential threats (if any). For any further questions, please leave us a comment.
