SwiftCleaner is not the kind of program you would like to be operating on your computer. Despite hackers' attempts to make it look a legitimate anti-virus software, it is nothing more but a scam.
The fraudulent program exploits vulnerabilities found in the targeted computers in order to enter them. Most vulnerabilities exist because of the fact that users do not keep their software updated. Updated versions of each product are patched against many of the existing threats. Therefor, it is extremely important to keep your programs up-to-date by downloading updates only from the official websites of the programs.
SwiftCleaner starts its fraud-scheme by displaying fake warnings. They state that the computer has been infected with a number of viruses. If clicked on, these alerts prompt the user to purchase SwiftCleaner in order to get rid of the infections. The next step of the rogue's plan is to evoke its phony scanning tool. It shows a bogus list of infections – many of the files it has listed as security threats are harmless, legitimate files. Then the malware prompts the user once again to pay for the "licenced" version of SwiftCleaner and promotes it as a very efficient anti-malware program. The truth, though, is that this application is completely incapable of detecting and removing viruses since it is a virus itself.
This program's tactics are not only annoying, they also hamper the user's work on the computer and slow down the overall performance of the machine.
To put it in a nutshell, SwiftCleaner is an extremely fraudulent product. The only thing it can do is take your money away for its useless services. That is why, we recommend you to run a full scan of your PC with a genuine anti-virus program as soon as you notice SwiftCleaner working on your computer!
